Bently 18745-04 Proximitor Preamplifier

Product Brief Introduction Bently 18745-04 is a proximitor preamplifier for eddy current proximity probe systems. It provides high-frequency excitation signal for the probe, converts the impedance variation caused by metal target gap change into standard voltage output signal. It forms a complete non-contact measurement system together with probe and extension cable, used for rotating shaft vibration, axial displacement and speed monitoring of industrial rotating machinery.

Technical Specifications Power Supply: -24V DC Output Signal: Linear voltage proportional to probe gap Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +85℃ Frequency Response: 0 to 10kHz Impedance Matching: Compatible with matched Bently probe and extension cable Shock Resistance: 10g peak Vibration Resistance: 2g, 10-1000Hz Housing Material: Aluminum alloy sealed housing Connector Type: Microdot compatible interface Relative Humidity: 5% to 95%, non-condensing

Functional Features Generates stable high-frequency excitation signal for eddy current probe. Converts gap change of metal target into linear analog voltage signal. Built-in circuit monitoring for probe cable break or short circuit fault. High anti-interference capability for industrial field electromagnetic environment. Supports continuous long-time online monitoring. Compact sealed structure for field cabinet or local mounting.

Application Scenarios Shaft vibration monitoring of steam turbine and gas turbine. Axial thrust displacement measurement for centrifugal compressors. Rotating machinery condition monitoring in petrochemical industry. Power plant generator and large pump machinery protection system. On-line gap measurement for high-speed rotating equipment.

Structural Characteristics Sealed aluminum alloy metal casing with corrosion-resistant surface treatment. Internal circuit is fully encapsulated for moisture and dust protection. Precision signal interface for connecting probe extension cable.

Working Principle The preamplifier generates high-frequency alternating current and sends it to the eddy current probe coil. An eddy current is induced on the surface of the measured metal target. The impedance of probe coil changes with the gap distance between probe and target.

Installation Requirements Install the preamplifier in a dry, vibration-controlled cabinet or designated mounting bracket. Use shielded twisted pair wire for power supply and output signal wiring. Keep away from high-power motor and high-voltage cable to reduce electromagnetic interference. Strictly match the model of probe and extension cable. Check wiring tightness after connection, ensure no short circuit before power on. Ground the housing according to Bently system grounding specification.
