Technical Specifications
Alias GDC801 A101, GD C801 A101. Order number 3BHE024747R0101. Supply DC 24 V from drive auxiliary, 20 to 28 V range, consumption approximately 18 W. Drive object single-channel crowbar thyristor 3 kV or 2500 A class. Fiber receive from main CPU, fiber transmit for fault feedback. Dimensions 220 mm by 160 mm by 50 mm, weight about 1.0 to 1.2 kg. Operating temperature -20 to plus 65 or plus 70 C. Conformal-coated PCB. Mount snap-on in MV power compartment. Origin Switzerland or USA variant.
Functional Features
Nanosecond-class gate pulse amplification. DC-link overvoltage detection with divider scaling. Crowbar thyristor fault, trigger-fail and power-abnormal diagnostics returned over fiber. Pulse-block on lost main control link. Three-proof coating against dust and humidity.
Application Scenarios
ACS2000 6 kV medium-voltage drives. ACS5000 6 kV or 10 kV converters. Thermal power induced draft fan, blast furnace main drive, large water pump MV standard panels.

Material and Structure
Multilayer control PCB, high-voltage divider resistors, trigger transformer, fiber ST or SMA connectors, edge connector to control rack, aluminum mounting bracket.
Working Principle
Samples DC-link through divider, compares to threshold, on overvoltage fires pulse amplifier, saturates crowbar thyristor gate, shorts DC bus through external bleed resistor, latches fault and reports Crowbar Trip to CPU.
Installation Requirements
De-energize and LOTO drive, wait 10 minutes for DC-link discharge, verify zero bus voltage, seat in guide rails, screw retainers, reconnect optical and divider leads, verify clearance to HV deck.
Usage Notes
A101 hardware version not directly interchangeable with other GDC801 suffixes. After replacement test crowbar trigger function, check fiber and pulse circuit, perform high-voltage insulation test. Never bypass crowbar in service.
