Technical Specifications
Supply 24 V DC plus minus 10 percent. Multi-channel isolated IGCT or SCR gate pulse amplifiers. 16-bit analog feedback sampling. Outer diameter 210 mm, thickness 32 mm. Weight 0.39 kg. Operating temperature -20 to plus 70 C. Acrylic conformal coat. LEDs for channel trigger, power ok, fault. Gold contact ring for stack bus. Mechanical drop-in fit on MV heatsink ring.
Functional Features
Microsecond-class gate current pulses. Overcurrent lockout. Pulse-loss monitoring. Undervoltage shutdown. Galvanic isolation between fiber command and high-voltage deck. Optimized DTC sampling timing.
Application Scenarios
ACS800 medium-voltage drive phase legs. ACS880 MV inverter stacks. Synchronous VAR compensator IGCT firing. Wind turbine MV converters. Marine propulsion converters.
Material and Structure
Circular printed circuit board with gold-plated central contact ring, surface-mount trigger amplifiers, onboard energy storage capacitors, heavy acrylic conformal coating, LED indicators, mounting holes matching heatsink ring.

Working Principle
Fiber optic receiver accepts firing command from CPU, trigger amplifier charges gate capacitor and dumps peak current into IGCT gate for turn-on or turn-off, analog stage samples phase current and DC-link voltage, sends conditioned values back over fiber, fault circuit cuts pulses on overcurrent or lost pulse.
Installation Requirements
De-energize and LOTO the drive cabinet. Seat board on heatsink ring aligning gold contact ring, torque fixing screws to ABB spec, route fiber separately from power bus, verify 24 V DC auxiliary before closing.
Usage Notes
Base revision, not EMC-upgraded. Do not assume R0003 coating or temperature rating. Drive CPU may flag revision mismatch in DriveWindow. Never test gate outputs with stack energized.
