Functional Characteristics
Eliminates hand-built D-SUB pin-out mistakes in SIS cabinets.
Twisted-pair plus braided shield structure suppresses induced noise from VFDs and contactors.
Factory pull-tested continuity and insulation before shipment.
Supports 24 V DC discrete output voting signals from TMR DO cards to ESD solenoids.
Hot-loop commissioning ready, no on-site re-pinning required.
Working Principle
The Tricon TMR DO module drives three independent voted output states onto the backplane and out through the front D-SUB. The 4000103-510 carries those voted conductor paths to the cabinet termination board where field wiring branches to solenoids or relay coils. The shield is terminated at the chassis end only, so the safety loop keeps galvanic separation from field ground while preserving the 2oo3 output decision made inside the Tricon rack.
Application Scenarios
Refinery ESD cabinets linking Tricon DO cards to shutdown-valve solenoid terminal rows.
Power plant burner management trip cabinets driving fuel-gas shutoff valve coils.
Onshore HIPPS cabinets wiring high-pressure relief valve pilot solenoids.
Petrochemical unit ESD racks where factory SIL 3 wiring QA is mandatory.
Material Composition
Conductors: tinned stranded copper
Insulation: PVC or TPE industrial grade
Outer jacket: flame-retardant PVC
Shield: tinned copper braid
Connector shell: molded thermoplastic with metal shell grounding
D-SUB pins: gold-plated copper alloy
Structural Features
Single 15-pin D-SUB with thumb screws on module side.
Loose conductor bundle on termination side, 3 m fixed length.
Overall braid plus pair twist, no intermediate splices.
Cable tag printed with 4000103-510 and Schneider part stamp.

Installation Requirements
Insert D-SUB end into the DO module front connector and tighten thumb screws.
Route cable in tray separated from 480 VAC and VFD power by at least 300 mm or a grounded metal divider.
Terminate braid to chassis ground at the Tricon cabinet end only.
Land field conductors on the external termination board per the Tricon DO point list; do not swap voted pair order.
Verify 500 V DC megger insulation between each core and shield before energizing.
Usage Notes
Do not cut and re-splice the 3 m assembly; cutting breaks the SIL 3 prefab certification.
If FAIL or discrepancy appears on the DO module after install, check shield ground, not just solenoid continuity.
Store spare cables flat, not coiled tightly, to avoid pair deformation.
Replace as a whole assembly; field-repaired cables are not accepted in TUV SIL 3 loops.
