Technical Specifications
Interface: 1×10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet. Protocols: TCP/IP, ISO-on-TCP, S7 protocol, Modbus TCP. Data rate: 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation. Isolation: 1500V AC. Power dissipation: 4W. Operating temperature range: 0°C to +60°C.
Functional Features
Auto-negotiating 10/100Mbps Ethernet port. Supports multiple standard industrial protocols. Independent communication processing offloads main CPU. Built-in diagnostics and status indicators. Supports multiple simultaneous connections.
Application Scenarios
It connects S7-400 systems to plant Ethernet networks, SCADA systems, upper-level control systems, and multi-PLC network installations.
Performance Parameters
Data rate: 10/100Mbps auto-sensing. Maximum connections: 16. Operating temperature range: 0°C to +60°C. Vibration resistance: 2G @ 10Hz to 500Hz.
Material Composition
Housing: flame-retardant plastic. PCB: FR-4 with conformal coating. Connector: shielded RJ45 with gold-plated contacts.
Structural Characteristics
It features S7-400 standard card form factor, front panel link/activity LEDs, RJ45 Ethernet port, rear backplane connector, and card guide mounting.
Working Principle
It handles all Ethernet protocol processing independently from the main CPU, converting PLC data to Ethernet packets and vice versa. It manages network connections, protocol conversion and data exchange between the PLC and network devices.
Installation Requirements
Install in S7-400 chassis slot. Connect Category 5e Ethernet cable. Configure IP address via STEP 7. Set network parameters to match plant network.
Usage Notes
Assign unique IP address. Check link status LEDs. Use surge protection for outdoor cables. Follow ESD handling procedures.
