Technical Specifications
Baud rates are configurable at 19.2 kbps, 38.4 kbps, 76.8 kbps, and 153.6 kbps. Maximum node count is 64 Genius blocks with addresses 0-63. Multi-master support allows up to 4 masters sharing the same bus. Global data support includes up to 64 words (%G1-%G64) for shared data exchange. Backplane power consumption is approximately 2.5 W at 5 VDC. LED indicators include RUN, FAULT, COMM, and MODE.
Functional Features
Multi-master capability enables multiple PLCs to share the same Genius bus for distributed control and redundancy. Global data exchange simplifies inter-PLC communication without explicit message instructions. Full backward compatibility with existing Genius I/O blocks protects installed base investment.
Application Scenarios
Large-scale distributed I/O systems, high-speed packaging lines, process control networks, manufacturing automation, and systems requiring deterministic token-passing communication.
Performance Parameters
153.6 kbps maximum baud rate delivers fast deterministic data exchange. 64-node capacity supports extensive network expansion. Global data exchange enables efficient peer-to-peer communication between controllers.
Material Composition
Industrial housing with Genius protocol processor, high-speed transceiver, isolation barriers, and backplane interface.

Structural Characteristics
Standard Series 90-30 single-slot module. Genius bus connector on module face. LED array for status indication. Rotary or software-configurable address and baud rate settings.
Working Principle
The module operates as a Genius network master, scanning connected I/O blocks and exchanging data via the token-passing protocol. It maps remote I/O data to the CPU memory and broadcasts global data to other devices on the network.
Installation Requirements
Install in Series 90-30 baseplate. Assign unique network address. Connect shielded twisted-pair Genius cable to the bus port. Install 120-ohm termination resistors at both ends of the bus. Ensure all devices support the configured baud rate.
Usage Precautions
Verify CPU firmware version is 5.0 or higher for proper operation. Maintain single-point shield grounding. Check LED indicators for fault diagnosis.
