Technical Specifications
Communication protocol is Modbus/TCP and Ethernet Global Data. Ethernet port is 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiating RJ45. Backplane current consumption is typically 250 mA at 5VDC. Supports up to 64 I/O modules. Operating temperature is 0°C to 60°C. Dimensions are standard VersaMax single-slot module.
Functional Features
Ethernet Global Data support enables high-speed peer-to-peer data exchange. Modbus/TCP server functionality allows direct communication with HMI, SCADA, and third-party devices. Web server capability provides diagnostic access via standard browsers. LED indicators show network status, module health, and communication activity.
Application Scenarios
Distributed I/O over Ethernet, remote monitoring stations, SCADA integration, building automation, and water/wastewater treatment systems.

Performance Parameters
Supports real-time data exchange across Ethernet networks. Deterministic I/O scanning maintains control system timing. Compatible with standard Ethernet switches and infrastructure.
Material Composition
Industrial-grade housing with integrated Ethernet magnetics and protected RJ45 connector.
Structural Characteristics
Single-slot VersaMax module form factor. Standard RJ45 Ethernet connector on module face. DIN rail carrier mounting compatible.
Working Principle
The NIU scans connected VersaMax I/O modules via the backplane and maps I/O data to Ethernet protocol packets. It exchanges data with master devices or peer NIUs using configured Modbus registers or EGD exchange definitions.
Installation Requirements
Mount on VersaMax I/O carrier. Connect to Ethernet network via standard CAT5e or better cable. Configure IP address and protocol parameters through programming software.
Usage Precautions
Use shielded Ethernet cables in industrial environments. Ensure network switch supports required data throughput. Verify IP address uniqueness on the network. Maintain proper grounding of carriers for EMC compliance.
