GE IC200ALG620 RTD Resistance Temperature Detector Input Module

Product Introduction
The IC200ALG620 is an intelligent RTD input module designed for precise temperature measurement in VersaMax PLC systems. It accepts signals from up to four resistance temperature detector devices and supplies internal excitation current, eliminating the need for external field excitation sources.

Technical Specifications
The module provides four RTD input channels. Resolution is 16-bit with 15 bits plus sign. Supported RTD types include platinum (25, 100, 1000 ohm), copper (10, 50, 100 ohm), nickel (100, 120 ohm), and nickel/iron (604 ohm). Resistance input ranges are 0-500 ohms and 0-3000 ohms. Update rate is 210 ms per channel at 60 Hz and 230 ms at 50 Hz. Accuracy at 25°C is ±0.15% on resistance and temperature measurements. Backplane current consumption is 125 mA at 5V and 125 mA at 3.3V. Isolation is 1500 VAC between input and frame, and 250 VAC between input and logic.
Functional Features
Automatic A/D calibration at power-up and periodic recalibration compensates for ambient temperature changes. Channel diagnostics detect open RTD, input short, underrange, overrange, wiring fault, and non-volatile memory faults. LED indicators include OK LED showing green for normal operation and amber for fault conditions.
Performance Parameters
16-bit resolution delivers high-precision temperature readings. Temperature sensitivity is ±0.004% of reading and ±1.5 μV per °C referred to input. Common mode rejection ratio is 120 dB at 50-60 Hz. Normal mode rejection is 60 dB.
Material Composition
Industrial-grade housing with precision analog front-end circuitry and protected terminal connections.
Structural Characteristics
Compact single-slot design. Four dedicated RTD channels with separate ADC circuits per channel. Maximum lead resistance is 5 ohms per lead.
Working Principle
The module sources excitation current through the connected RTD.
Installation Requirements
Install on VersaMax carriers with proper grounding. Use 3-wire or 4-wire RTD wiring to minimize lead resistance effects. Maintain maximum lead resistance of 5 ohms per lead.
Usage Precautions
Verify RTD type configuration matches the connected sensor. Ensure proper wire termination to avoid open-circuit diagnostics.
