Technical Specifications

Type: variable reluctance magnetic pickup. Output signal: AC sine wave. Frequency range: 10Hz to 10kHz. Operating gap: 0.25mm to 1.5mm. Mounting thread: 3/4-16 UNF. Operating temperature range: -40°C to +120°C. Protection rating: IP67.

Functional Features

Non-contact operation with no moving parts for long service life. Rugged all-metal construction withstands harsh engine environments. Output signal proportional to rotational speed. Compatible with all Woodward speed controls and governors. Hermetically sealed option available.

Application Scenarios

It measures engine speed, turbine RPM, gear train speed and rotating equipment speed for engine governors, turbine control systems, overspeed protection and speed regulation applications.

Performance Parameters

Frequency range: 10Hz to 10kHz. Output amplitude: 1V RMS minimum @ 100Hz. Operating temperature range: -40°C to +120°C. Vibration resistance: 10G @ 10Hz to 2000Hz.

Material Composition

Housing: nickel-plated steel. Coil: enameled copper wire. Pole piece: high-permeability steel. Cable: oil-resistant PVC with tinned copper conductors.

Structural Characteristics

It features cylindrical threaded body, internal coil and pole piece, armored cable exit, and mounting locknut.

Working Principle

As gear teeth pass the sensor pole piece, the variable reluctance induces an AC voltage in the pickup coil. The frequency of the output signal is directly proportional to rotational speed, providing a speed feedback signal to the control system.

Installation Requirements

Thread into mounting boss. Set air gap to specification. Lock with locknut. Connect speed leads to control system. Orient sensor perpendicular to gear teeth.

Usage Notes

Maintain specified air gap. Keep sensor face clean of debris. Inspect cable insulation periodically. Do not impact sensor housing. Follow electrical safety procedures.
