Technical Specifications 2 CAN ports; CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B support; ISO 11898 standard; Baud rate up to 1 Mbps; Terminal resistor configurable; Operating temperature -40°C to 70°C.
Functional Features Transmit and receive CAN frames. Hardware timestamp for CAN messages. Bus error detection and diagnostic. Built-in configurable bus termination resistor.
Application Scenarios Automotive test, heavy machinery control, vehicle component validation, industrial CAN network monitoring and embedded system test.
Performance Parameters High speed CAN message transmission; Hardware timestamp for precise message timing; Bus load monitoring.
Structural Characteristics Compact C Series module, terminal block for CAN_H and CAN_L wiring, LED indicators for CAN port status and error.
Working Principle The module implements CAN protocol hardware. It receives CAN messages from the bus and sends messages from controller to CAN network, and transmits CAN data between NI controller and CAN field nodes.
Installation Requirements Insert module into cRIO or cDAQ chassis. Connect CAN_H and CAN_L wires, set termination resistor according to network topology. Install NI-XNET driver.
Usage Notes Match baud rate with all CAN nodes on the network. Proper bus termination is required at both ends of CAN bus. Check bus short circuit before power on.
