Working Principle Under normal operation, current flows through the bimetal element and magnetic coil. Overload current heats the bimetal, deflecting it to trip the mechanism after a time delay. Short-circuit current energizes the magnetic coil instantaneously, tripping the mechanism to interrupt the fault current.
