Technical Specifications
Number of counters: 2 quadrature (ABZ) channels or 4 pulse counter channels. Input voltage range: 2.6V to 30V DC. Count range: 32-bit signed (-2,147,483,648 to +2,147,483,647). Maximum input frequency: 1MHz (channel 1), 500kHz (channel 2). Outputs: 4 physical sourcing outputs, 12 virtual outputs. Current draw: 425mA @ 5.1V DC. Power dissipation: 7.5W. Isolation: 75V continuous, tested to 1200V AC for 2 seconds. Operating temperature range: 0°C to +60°C. Storage temperature range: -40°C to +85°C.
Functional Features
It supports multiple operating modes including quadrature (X1/X2/X4), pulse/direction, up/down pulse and rate measurement. It provides user-definable count limits, preset values, and linear/ring counter operation. Selectable input filters improve noise immunity in industrial environments. Built-in Z-input supports counter reset, capture and gating functions.
Application Scenarios
It applies to conveyor speed monitoring, positioning systems, encoder feedback, material length measurement, cut-to-length applications, motion control systems, packaging machinery and assembly line position tracking.
The housing is made of flame-retardant engineering plastic. The terminal block uses high-conductivity copper alloy with nickel plating. Internal circuits adopt industrial-grade integrated circuits and PCB with FR-4 glass fiber substrate.
Structural Characteristics
It adopts CompactLogix standard form factor with plastic housing, removable terminal block, front panel status LEDs, and side-mounted bus connector for system expansion.
Working Principle

It receives high-speed pulse signals from encoders or pulse sensors, processes the signals through dedicated high-speed counter circuits, calculates position and speed values, and makes the data available to the CompactLogix controller via the system bus for motion control and monitoring functions.
Installation Requirements

Install within 4 modules of the system power supply. Use individually shielded twisted-pair cables for encoder signals. Tighten terminal screws to 0.68 N·m torque. Ground cable shields at one end only. Configure counter modes via controller programming software.
