- Processor: It is equipped with a 32 MHz MC68040 enhanced 32 – bit microprocessor with 8 KB of cache, MMU (Memory Management Unit) and FPU (Floating – Point Unit). There are also optional configurations, including a 25 MHz MC68040 32 – bit microprocessor with 8 KB of cache, MMU and FPU, and a 25 MHz MC68LC040 enhanced 32 – bit microprocessor with 8 KB of cache and MMU.
- Memory: It can have 4, 8 or 16 MB of shared DRAM, which is parity – protected. There is 512 KB of SRAM with battery backup, 1 MB of flash memory for on – board monitor/debugger or user – installed firmware, and 8 k x 8 NVRAM, as well as a battery – backed real – time clock.
- Interface: It has two serial communication ports. The console port is configured as EIA – 232 – D DTE, and the second port can be configured by the user as EIA – 232 – D/EIA – 422 (V.36) DTE/DCE. It is equipped with four 16 – or 32 – bit Industry Pack® ports, with one DMA channel per port. It also has an optional SCSI bus interface with 32 – bit local bus burst DMA and an optional Ethernet transceiver interface with 32 – bit local bus DMA. In addition, there is a 32 – pin PLCC EPROM socket.
- VMEbus Interface: It has a 32/D64 VMEbus master/slave interface with system controller functionality, supporting high – performance DMA, and being compatible with VMEbus D64 and local bus memory burst cycles. It has a four – stage requester, a seven – stage interruptor, and a seven – stage interrupt handler for VMEbus.
- Timers: It is equipped with six 32 – bit timers, including four non – VMEbus timers and a watchdog timer.
- High – performance Processing: The powerful MC68040 series microprocessors, with built – in cache, MMU and FPU, can quickly process various data and execute complex algorithms, which is suitable for applications that require high – speed computing, such as real – time data analysis and control algorithm operations.
