- Processor: It can be equipped with a 25 MHz MC68LC040 enhanced 32 - bit microprocessor with 8 KB of cache and MMU (Memory Management Unit). An optional 25 MHz MC68040 32 - bit microprocessor with 8 KB of cache, MMU, and FPU (Floating - Point Unit) is also available.
- Memory: It has 1 MB, 4 MB, or 8 MB of shared DRAM, which can be programmed for parity. There is 512 KB of SRAM with battery backup, which can prevent data loss during power - off. In addition, there is a 32 - pin JEDEC standard PLCC EPROM socket, and 8 k x 8 NVRAM with a battery - backed real - time clock.
- Interface: It is equipped with two serial communication ports. One is a console port configured as EIA - 232 - D DTE, and the second port can be configured by the user as EIA - 232 - D/EIA - 422 (V.36) DTE/DCE. There are four 16 - or 32 - bit Industry Pack® ports, with one DMA channel per port, which is convenient for function expansion. It also has an optional SCSI bus interface with 32 - bit local bus burst DMA and an optional Ethernet transceiver interface with 32 - bit local bus DMA.
